In October, Managing Director Gary Allomes and his wife Sally fly to Bangkok to host a very exclusive golf tour that includes both Thailand and Vietnam. One of the biggest complaints golfers have is speed of play, and there is a growing tendency for amateurs to spend almost the same amount of time that the pros do in lining up their next shot. When pace of play becomes a problem, even if it caused by someone else, we can sometimes find ourselves rushing parts of our game to make up for lost time and subsequently playing poorly. There is no need for a player to have three practice swings for a regulation shot, or to spend an eternity lining up a putt they will most likely miss. Don’t beat around the bush with slow players, tell them in a polite way that they need to pick up the pace. If they continue to play slowly and cause you frustration, avoid playing with them altogether!
