Tasmania Hosted Golf Tour - Day 5
Day 5 of the Tasmanian golf tour with my great group of Singaporean golfers brings us to Hobart for the last few days of the tour. Yesterday we played the private golf Club, Launceston Golf Club and the group dressed for the occasion in national colours of red and white.
General Manager Tony Powell greeted the group on arrival and hosted them to lunch in the Clubhouse following their golf round. The weather was perfect and the golf course a little easier than the round at Lost Farm, Barnbougle a few days earlier. The group finished yesterday with a stroll through Cataract Gorge and a sumptuous dinner at the Gorge Restaurant.
Today, we checked out of the Sebel Launceston and drove to Hobart with a “coffee and comfort” stop at the historic village of Ross. There are some excellent bakeries in Ross, and some of the group were game enough to try the local fast food favourite … scallop pies!
On arrival in Hobart it was straight to the #1 tourist attraction … the Salamanca Markets! A couple of hours later and with many souvenirs purchased, it was off to the iconic Wrest Point Casino Resort for check-in and fabulous views over the Derwent River and back to Constitution Dock where a large Holland America cruise ship had just arrived.
Tasmania is an exciting and fascinating tourist destination with so much variety and natural beauty to complement the great golf courses on offer. Tomorrow we are up early to play a round at Tasmania Golf Club, one of the best courses in Tasmania with spectacular views around Barilla Bay and the town of Sorrel.
